Railway jobs in West Bengal
Age: The candidate should be between 15 and 24 years of age. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will get a relaxation of five years in the age limit and other backward class candidates for three years. Specially abled candidates can apply up to the age of 34 years
Educational Qualification: To apply for these posts, one has to pass secondary or higher secondary or equivalent examination from a government recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks. There should be National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT. There is a need to have a suitable National Trade Certificate for the post for which you are applying. However, for some posts, applications can be made only if they pass class VIII. They are Welder (Gas and Electric), Sheet Metal Worker, Lineman, Wireman, Carpenter and Painter (General). But they should also have National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT.
